Daran Edermath is a silver-haired half-elf and former adventurer who now tends a small apple orchard on the outskirts of [[Phandalin]]. Though he appears as a quiet, kind-hearted retiree, his bearing and the glint in his eyes mark him as a man who has seen far more than he lets on.

A former member of the [[Order of the Gauntlet]], Daran served for decades as a wandering knight dedicated to rooting out evil and injustice. In his later years, he settled in Phandalin to live a life of peace — though his sense of duty never faded.

When the adventurers arrived in town during [[Session 03 – Welcome to Phandalin]], Daran offered them a quest to investigate strange disturbances at [[Old Owl Well]], promising a reward of 100 gold pieces for their service.
