On the first recorded session of the campaign, the crew accepted a dreaded escort mission to deliver a wagon of supplies to [[Phandalin]]. The mission originated from [[Gundren Rockseeker]], a dwarf and part-time trivia host with secretive motives. He and his companion [[Sildar Hallwinter]] were ambushed by goblins along the road—possibly kidnapped or slain—and the party was tasked with investigating their fate.

Along the way, the group picked up two wandering college dropouts: [[Shade]] (a tiefling bard devoted to writing songs of sin rather than traditional tragedies) and Cosima, who was simply vibing with the chaos.
