Well of Dragons
The Well of Dragons is a Cult of the Dragon stronghold where the Draakhorn is kept and sounded continuously to summon chromatic dragons from across Faerûn.
Overview
The Well of Dragons serves as a primary operational base for the Cult of the Dragon's ritual to summon Tiamat. The location houses the Draakhorn, an ancient artifact capable of sending a call that chromatic dragons can hear up to 1,500 miles away—covering almost the entire Sword Coast.
Campaign Events
In Session 42, Lord Valtheran revealed under interrogation that the Draakhorn is located at the Well of Dragons. Cult leaders have been sounding it "around the clock" to call dragons to their cause. This explains why Venomfang heard the horn's call at the Temple of Lathander in Session 40.
The revelation that the Draakhorn has been transported to the Well of Dragons explains why the cult has been relatively quiet in recent months—they've been focused on this massive logistical operation.
Strategic Importance
The Well of Dragons represents the cult's primary stronghold and the likely site of the final ritual to summon Tiamat. Its location and defenses make it a critical target for any effort to stop the cult's plans.
