The Harpers' Read
A rust monster will not eat you — it eats your gear. A touch of its feelers corrodes iron and steel to red dust in an instant: armour, blades, the very nails of a winch. It is little threat to flesh, and a ruinous threat to a well-armed party. Meet it with wood, stone, or magic weapons, keep your steel well back, and let someone with a club do the killing.
Encounters of Record
Fouled the Svirfneblin's winch works beneath Garmok's Mine (46).
