WaveRender

WaveRender is a black dragon, the identical twin of Voaraghamanthar — a rarity, as twins are almost unheard of among dragonkind. The two wyrms share an obsessive pursuit of immortality, keep multiple lairs scattered hundreds of miles apart, and spend most of their time haunting the Mere of Dead Men. (Name spelling uncertain — heard as "WaveRender"/"Waverender"; recorded from Ilyra's account.)

Background

Ilyra Voss, the drow researcher beneath Garmok's Mine, revealed WaveRender's existence to Deez Nuts in Session 45 via a scrying ritual. The two black dragons are identical twins who have spent centuries chasing ways to cheat death, which is why they maintain several distant lairs and why the loss of one is not necessarily permanent.

Role in Campaign

After Deez Nuts and the Bronze Blades slew Voaraghamanthar in Session 44, the party returned the next day to find the dragon's corpse had vanished from the flooded depths of the mine. Ilyra's scrying confirmed that WaveRender had recovered his twin's body and was likely working to revive him — meaning the dragon the party fought so hard to kill may not stay dead. WaveRender himself has not yet been encountered.
