The Harpers' Read
A subterranean people met as foes; combat lore only. Duergar are grim, gray-skinned dwarves twisted by the deep. In a fight two tricks set them apart: a duergar can swell to giant size, doubling the weight of its hammer, and can turn invisible to strike from nowhere. They shrug off poison and resist magic, and — like the drow — they are dazzled by sunlight. Carry light, expect the unseen blow, and do not be fooled by their size.
Encounters of Record
Met in Garmok's Mine, where the duergar Garmok worked with the cult (44, 46).
