Dragon Harvesting
A slain dragon is a mobile treasury of crafting materials. White dragon parts in particular keep their bite of cold long after death, and a careful hand can turn scale, fang, gland, and bone into arms, armor, and alchemy.
Harvesting a carcass
Each part is recovered with a single ability check, using the tool appropriate to the work. If you are proficient with the tool you add your Proficiency Bonus; if you are also proficient with a related skill, you make the check with Advantage. A failed check ruins only that part.
Work is divided into stations by tool:
- Alchemy (Alchemist's Supplies) — glands, blood, eyes, and the rarest organs
- Smithing (Smith's / Carver's Tools) — scales, claws, fangs, horn, bone
- Skinning (Leatherworker's Tools) — hide and wing membrane
- Scavenging (no tools) — whatever the beast had swallowed
A full party can work every station at once. Spare hands may Help another harvester for Advantage.
