Bargan Thrust

Bargan Thrust (name uncertain — the Session 51 recording renders it variously as "bargain thrust," "Argan," and "Bargus"; no earlier canonical spelling exists on this wiki) is the dwarf dockmaster of Luskan, a wide, no-nonsense fixture of the harbor with ties to Ship Kurth.

Session 51 — corrupted, cured, and remembering

When Deez Nuts returned to Luskan in Session 51, the dockmaster was two weeks deep in the blood-red coin corruption: he shook down his own hometown captain, Captain Larusta, for a docking fee every Luskan-based captain had always been spared, and kept a bolted-down box of 130 red coins at the docks. At the words "red coins" his hand went to his sword — and Baelgrum won initiative and delivered Remove Curse by touch mid-handshake.

The curse washed through so powerfully that Bargan, unique among the cured, kept his memories of the corruption — he remembers the coins calling to him. Staggered by his two lost weeks (and by the news that Old White Death is dead), he surrendered his coin box (Xanphina tore it free of its bolts), was overpaid with a pearl worth more than the gold, and pledged to spread the party's name to Ship Kurth — "Spread the word of these nuts, indeed."

He also swallowed Shade's false rumor that the Bronze Blades carry red coins, vowing that Ship Kurth will "search them good."

Status

Active at the Luskan docks; cured; a rare cured Luskanite who remembers what the coins felt like. Currently the party's advocate within Ship Kurth.
