Session 25 – Murder on the Trade Way (1/28/24)

Summary
The caravan continued its northward journey toward **Baldur’s Gate**, with tensions rising among both travelers and cultists alike.
- Bechamel** spent much of the trip charming fellow passengers, earning a reputation as a smooth-talking Harper agent. His diplomacy was put to the test when **Jamma**, another traveler, discovered a bonespur hidden in his morning oatmeal—an apparent attempt on his life. Bechamel’s intervention helped keep panic at bay.
Meanwhile, **Gootcha Zinnoa** continued her delicate balancing act, maintaining cover as a possible double agent while keeping tabs on her cultist “friend” **Murray**. Unfortunately, the next morning, Murray was found dead—stabbed cleanly with a shortsword. Many among the caravan carried such weapons, including **Keyleth Siannodel** and **Bruder**, but no conclusive evidence surfaced.
Rather than investigate, the travelers collectively shrugged, adopting the unspoken rule: *we don’t like cops.*
The journey pressed on through more monster attacks, which the party handily survived. **Edie**, the aloof moon elf hauling Chultan lumber, volunteered to stay behind to deal with a rogue **owlbear**, while the rest of the caravan reached Baldur’s Gate unscathed.
Upon arrival, each party received $1000 (split between their respective wagons, $2000 total). Bechamel also received his hawk companion as a tip, officially expanding his growing list of animal friends.
