The Underdark is a vast network of underground caverns and tunnels that extends beneath Garmok's Mine, home to aberrations, deep gnomes, and the results of illithid experiments.
Overview
The Underdark passages beneath the Mere of Dead Men contain the remnants of illithid (mind flayer) experiments, including the Mind Gobbler and other aberrations. The drow researcher has been studying these passages for decades.

Geography
The tunnels extend deep beneath Garmok's Mine, with passages leading south that are reportedly closest to the surface. The environment is dangerous, with various aberrations and natural hazards.
Campaign Events
In Session 45, Deez Nuts and the Bronze Blades descended into the Underdark passages after clearing Garmok's Mine. They encountered the Mind Gobbler aberration and the drow researcher, who warned them about the aboleth and other dangers.
The party learned that deep gnomes live somewhere in these tunnels and could potentially help create a safe exit to the surface through their stonework expertise.
