Lizardfolk Geomancer

A lizardfolk spellcaster specializing in geomancy (earth magic) deployed to Castle Naerytar as part of Bernie's reinforcement forces.

Description

A reptilian spellcaster with expertise in stone and earth magic, this geomancer serves multiple roles at Castle Naerytar: combat defender, regional knowledge specialist, and lorekeeper of local history and threats. The geomancer provides invaluable intelligence to Deez Nuts about the dangers of the Mere of Dead Men.

Role

  • Combat Defender – Guards the Castle Naerytar portal against cultist incursions
  • Regional Knowledge Specialist – Expert on local geography and history
  • Lorekeeper – Maintains oral traditions about the Mere's dangers
  • Intelligence Source – Provides crucial information to allied forces

Specialization

Geomancy – Earth-based magic including stone manipulation, defensive wards, and terrain control. This specialization makes the geomancer particularly valuable for defending the stone structure of Castle Naerytar.

Combat Record

Successfully defended Castle Naerytar alongside the Giant Guardian against Cult of the Dragon forces attempting to retake the castle through the portal. The combination of geomantic magic and giant strength proved highly effective.

Knowledge Provided (Session 43)

Garmok's Mine History:

The geomancer shared dark tales about Garmok's Mine and its cursed history:

  • Dwarves opened the mine hundreds of years ago
  • While mining, they encountered "something evil, something horrible"
  • The entire first expedition disappeared—never heard from again
  • A second dwarven clan was sent to investigate
  • The second expedition also vanished without a trace
  • The area around the mine has grown "dark and tangled" with nearly impassable terrain
  • Lizardfolk actively avoid the area due to its dangerous reputation

Black Dragon Threat:

The geomancer warned of a terrifying predator in the Mere:

  • A "giant black lizard of death" haunts the region
  • The creature moves with outrageous, unnatural speed
  • It can be seen in one area, then spotted on the opposite side of the Mere within a day
  • Territorial behavior suggests it's a single dragon rather than multiple creatures
  • Represents an active, ongoing threat to all who travel the Mere

This intelligence about the black dragon proved accurate—the party would later encounter this threat at Garmok's Mine.

Deployment

Summoned or deployed between Sessions 41-43 as part of Bernie's strategic reinforcements to secure Castle Naerytar against Cult incursions. The geomancer's arrival fulfilled Bernie's promise to provide his "best" defenders.

Relationships

Current Status

Active guard and advisor at Castle Naerytar, continuing to defend the portal and share regional knowledge.
