Viren Tharin

Viren Tharin was a Drow commander who led a raiding party against the Svirfneblin (deep gnomes) in the lower tunnels of Garmok's Mine. He was a skilled fighter and spellcaster who met his end during an encounter with the adventuring party known as Deez Nuts.

Appearance

Viren Tharin was a male drow dressed in dark armor suitable for underground combat. He bore the marks of a seasoned warrior and carried himself with the authority of a military commander.

Background

Viren Tharin commanded a Drow raiding force that was actively hunting Svirfneblin in the depths of Garmok's Mine. His party included a Drow Priestess who could fly and several drow warriors. The raiding party had been lying in wait when they encountered the adventuring party, whom they mistook as allies of the deep gnomes due to their friendly overtures to the Svirfneblin guards.

Combat

During the battle in Session 46, Viren Tharin demonstrated his magical abilities by casting Faerie Fire to illuminate Alexios, Karma, and Xanphina (though Shade successfully saved against the effect). He fought alongside his priestess and warriors against the combined forces of the adventuring party and the Svirfneblin guards.

Throughout the combat, Viren was struck by Xanphina's Javelin of Lightning, hit with Alexios's Guiding Bolt for 21 radiant damage, and damaged by Shade's Erupting Earth spell. Xanphina ultimately dealt the killing blow with her trident.
