Fall of Wave Echo Cave

The Fall of Wave Echo Cave — in 951 DR, orc hordes swept through the North and destroyed the great mine of the Phandelver's Pact.

The mine's tunnels collapsed and its forges fell silent; the survivors scattered, and within a few generations the very location of Wave Echo Cave — and the Forge of Spells within it — was lost. It stayed lost for over five centuries, until the Rockseeker brothers rediscovered it in 1488 DR, setting in motion the events that opened the campaign. Deez Nuts reclaimed the cave and slew the Black Spider at the Forge (Session 12).
