Garmok's Flail is a legendary weapon wielded by Garmok the Chainbearer, the orc hero who used it to seal an infernal rift beneath the Mere of Dead Men centuries ago.

Description

The flail was Garmok's signature weapon and the instrument of his ultimate sacrifice. When the orc hero threw it into the maw of an infernal rift to seal the breach, the flail pulled him in chains and all, but succeeded in preventing a devil invasion.

For centuries, the flail remained with Garmok's ghost as he used spectral chains to bind a horned devil, continuing to protect the Material Plane even in death.

Acquisition

In Session 44, when Deez Nuts and the Bronze Blades permanently destroyed the horned devil that Garmok had been restraining, the orc hero's spirit finally faded away, his duty complete. The flail materialized near his ancient corpse.

Xanphina picked up Garmok's flail and immediately used it to attack Voaraghamanthar the black dragon in the subsequent battle.

Campaign Use

Xanphina now wields Garmok's flail, connecting her to her orcish ancestry and the Skarhald Clan's heroic traditions. The weapon has been empowering her as she grew closer to discovering Garmok's resting place.
