Session 20 – The Cave of Dragon Eggs (9/16/23)

Summary
With the raiders dispersed and the camp abandoned, **Leosin Erlanthar**—the mysterious Not-Just-a-Monk—decided to part ways temporarily. He planned to meet with allies in the city of Elturel (sometimes misheard as “Erutel”) to coordinate the next phase of the effort to stop the Cult of the Dragon. He offered each party member a payment of **150 gold pieces** should they rendezvous with him there once their work in the cave is complete.
The adventurers returned to the site of the cultist camp, finding it largely stripped bare save for a few remaining guards and a single ornate tent—the same one they burned to the ground in their last daring escape. Beneath the camp lay the entrance to a winding cave system: the **Cave of Dragon Eggs**.
Inside, the party encountered multiple defensive layers: kobold barracks, fungal service passages, guard posts, and a variety of traps. The design made it clear—whatever was hidden within, the cult had gone to great lengths to protect it. The kobolds met a swift and merciless end, and after a grueling series of fights and hazards, the heroes secured the area long enough to rest in the now-empty kobold quarters.
Leosin’s information had proven true: the Cult was guarding something monumental. But whether the dragon eggs were still present—or had already been moved—remains to be seen.
