Starspire Grove

Starspire Grove was the holy grove of the Skarhald Clan, set east of the High Moor in the foothills of the Greypeak Mountains — and the first site in the Harpers' ledger of cullings.

In 759 DR, during the Cult of the Dragon's coordinated assaults on the strongholds sworn against Tiamat's return, Starspire Grove burned in a single night. The Skarhald champions — Garmok the Chainbearer among them — had been lured out across the Sword Coast into the cult's traps, and the clan was destroyed in the seasons that followed. Accounts of the era name the dragon as Balagos the Flame Tyrant.

The grove is not wholly gone: the Skarhald dead seek it still. Veylan Duskbane, who knew the clan in life, told Xanphina — child of Skarhald blood — that finding the champions' final resting places would help their spirits return to Starspire Grove.
