| The ice toads are ancestral inhabitants of these caverns, kept in line by [[Arauthator]]'s fear rather than loyalty. When the party approached in Draconic (and via [[Shade]]'s Comprehend Languages), Marfold and her people agreed to guide them through the upper tunnels rather than fight — wanting the dragon truly dead, not merely driven off.
