Halia Thornton is the shrewd and composed head of the Phandalin Miners’ Exchange, an influential businesswoman whose charm and professionalism conceal a mind for power and opportunity. She represents the face of order and commerce in Phandalin, though her true loyalties are not entirely clear.

Background

First encountered in Session 03 – Welcome to Phandalin, Halia offered the adventurers 100 gold pieces to eliminate the leader of the Redbrands, a wizard known as Glasstaff. She presented her request as a civic duty — but her pragmatic demeanor suggested deeper motives.

Halia runs the Miners’ Exchange as both a business hub and an information network. Many prospectors, merchants, and adventurers pass through her doors, leaving behind rumors, deals, and secrets. She often leverages this knowledge to maintain control over Phandalin’s unstable economy.
