The Harpers' Read
A merrow is an ogre gone to the deep sea — huge, vicious, and most dangerous near the water's edge. Its trick is the harpoon and reel: it spears a victim and drags them off their feet and into the water to drown. Often it fights as a hag's thrall rather than of its own will. Keep off the rail, cut the line, and remember that a freed merrow may be no enemy at all.
Encounters of Record
