Serpent Hills
A range of dry, broken hills between the High Moor and the Forest of Wyrms, north of the Trade Way and east of the Troll Claws. The Serpent's Tail Stream runs out of them toward the Winding Water.
The serpent-folk
The hills are home to the Yuan-ti — serpent-folk who worship the snake god and remake their bodies in its image, and who hold that all other humanoids should die. In Session 54 the company learned that a clutch of yuan-ti spies had come south out of the hills to Boareskyr Bridge — unusual range for them — watching for Varram the White, whom they are hunting for reasons unknown. Varram was last seen heading up toward these hills with her entourage; the four Cult of the Dragon "travelers" at the bridge were bound here too, to "meet up with some friends" ("orders are orders"). Yuan-ti attacks on travelers have been frequent along the Trade Way west of the hills, between the bridge and Dragonspear Castle.
