History
The Mattock of the Titan is an ancient Svirfneblin artifact that was held by the deep gnome community in Garmok's Mine. The Foreman revealed its existence only after the adventuring party proved themselves trustworthy and capable by successfully repairing the critical winch system, defeating both a Rust Monster and a Mimic in the process.
When the party completed their task, the Foreman presented them with this legendary tool, recognizing that they needed it to accomplish their goal of creating a new tunnel route through the mine.
Use in Session 46
The party used the Mattock of the Titan to dig a new bypass tunnel in the southern section of Garmok's Mine, creating a safe passage that avoided the hostile Myconid territory. During the excavation, the party sang "Diggy Diggy Hole" as their work song, and the magical mattock made the work surprisingly easy, allowing them to complete the tunnel in relatively short time.
