Bowgentle
Bowgentle was a renowned human wizard and sage of the North, celebrated for his mastery of transmutation and binding magics. His disappearance centuries ago remains one of the lingering mysteries of the Sword Coast’s magical history, and his spellbook is rumored to contain knowledge of powerful enchantments lost to time.
Background
Once a scholar of Neverwinter and later a recluse of the High Forest, Bowgentle devoted his life to preserving and expanding the arcane traditions of Faerûn. His writings were sought after by mages across the Realms, and fragments of his research survive in a handful of tomes and scrolls.
In Session 03 – Welcome to Phandalin, Sister Garaele tasked the adventurers with seeking out the banshee Agatha, who may know the location of Bowgentle’s lost spellbook. Legends claim the tome contains rituals of protection and creation — spells capable of shaping or binding magical forces themselves.

Foreshadowing:
- The rediscovery of Bowgentle’s spellbook could foreshadow the magical lore used to oppose Tiamat in Rise of Tiamat.
