Dispater

Dispater is the archdevil who rules the Iron City of Dis, the second layer of the Nine Hells. Deez Nuts glimpsed him when, slain by Arauthator, they awoke in a hellish demiplane to bargain for their lives.

(In play the figure was named by the DM as a great devil upon the throne — interpreted here as Dispater.)

Role in Campaign

After the party was killed battling Arauthator at Oyaviggaton (Session 49), they found themselves in a demiplane of the Hells — a throne raised over a river of blood choked with skulls. There Lady Calera brokered their resurrection, and Dispater himself looked down from the throne, radiating an aura of power that dwarfed any creature the party had ever encountered. His exact stake in the Pact with Lady Calera is not yet clear, but the bargain that returns the party to life is bound up with his domain.

• Lady Calera - The infernal noble who holds the party's pact; apparently within Dispater's domain or service
• Deez Nuts - Bound by an infernal pact now entwined with the Hells

Current Status

Glimpsed once, in his demiplane. The price he and Lady Calera will exact for the party's resurrection is unresolved.
