A vast, desolate region south of the Troll Claws where the Tower of Madness stands alone on a solitary hill.
Overview
The Fields of the Dead is a sprawling plain notable for having only one hill in the entire region. Centuries ago, Eltergard built an outpost called the Tower of Madness atop this hill, but one day all communication from the outpost ceased. Anyone who ventured within 50 miles of the tower was never heard from again. The area became known for rabid, sickly kobolds that attack travelers with no thought to tactics, driven by some unknown madness. According to old records, traders traveling from Soubar to Baldur's Gate were attacked by such kobolds and barely escaped with their lives.

Campaign Events
The party flew over the Fields of the Dead on Skyreach Castle and skydived directly into the Tower of Madness using a Scroll of Feather Fall. Inside, Xanphina claimed a Returning Trident from the remains of an Orcish woman, and the party fought off hordes of infected kobolds. After clearing the area, they asked Bernie to land the castle so they could continue their journey.
