Historical records mention traders taking a shortcut from Soubar to Baldur's Gate through the Fields of the Dead, though this route proved deadly when travelers were attacked by rabid, infected kobolds.

Campaign Events
During the party's research on the Tower of Madness, they discovered an old travelogue from traders traveling from Soubar to Baldur's Gate. The traders were ambushed by infected kobolds that fought with no tactical sense, seemingly driven by madness or sickness. Two traders died in the fight, and the survivors vowed never to take that shortcut again.
