Hrimthur
Hrimthur is a frost giant freed by Deez Nuts from Arauthator's lair at Oyaviggaton, where the dragon had frozen him solid and kept him as a trophy among his gallery of frozen victims.
(Recorded variously in play as Hurum Thur, Himther, Krimther, Rimther, Hrimther, and similar — the same giant.)
Background
Long ago, Hrimthur fought Arauthator out on a glacier and was killed — the dragon struck from the air and slew him despite his innate immunity to cold. Arauthator freezes those who cross him into solid ice and displays them as decorations throughout his caverns (the "Room of Horrors"); Hrimthur was one such victim. Giants and dragons have been ancestral enemies for thousands of years.
Revival [1]
In Session 48, finding Hrimthur the least-damaged of the frozen giants, the party thawed him with "circle magic" (Alexios's Burning Hands augmented by donated spell slots) and Karma brought him back with Revivify — the lair's flash-freeze having preserved the body like Gentle Repose. Restored and healed, Hrimthur pledged "You have my axe" and joined the assault, warning the party from his own death that Arauthator was fast, conjured an ice elemental, and warped the battlefield with terrain and illusion spells.
Role in Campaign
In the battle against Arauthator [2], Hrimthur fought alongside the party, loosing arrows from a greatbow and bolstering his allies with a War Cry that granted temporary hit points and advantage on attacks. A hardy combatant, he was eventually beaten down by the dragon's onslaught.
When the slain party struck their infernal bargain and returned to the exact instant of the battle, Hrimthur fought on at their side. In Session 50, the reforged company killed Arauthator in a single coordinated volley, and Hrimthur survived the fight.
Current Status
Alive and free, his captor dead. Hrimthur survived the slaying of Arauthator at Oyaviggaton [3].
