King Melendrak
King Melendrak
King Melendrak is the Elf King of Misty Forest who participated in the Council of Waterdeep. He represents the elven perspective that shorter-lived races' troubles are often not worth elven intervention.
Background
King Melendrak rules the elves of Misty Forest, who generally prefer to stay in their woods and not concern themselves with the troubles of humans, dwarves, and other shorter-lived races.
Role in Campaign
At the Council of Waterdeep in Session 43, King Melendrak acknowledged that the Cult of the Dragon gathering chromatic dragons is a bad thing that should be interrupted. However, he fundamentally didn't believe that anything could actually return Tiamat to the Material Plane.
This skepticism represented one faction of the council—those who saw the cult as a threat but doubted the possibility of Tiamat's return.
Personality
Melendrak embodies typical elven long-view thinking, where mortal urgency often seems overblown and the concerns of shorter-lived races appear transient.
