Provenance
Filed through the cell's notebook at the end of the day the company reached the ruined town below the mage's tomb, with the wyrmspeaker's company less than a day ahead. The dead agent's pin and cipher notebook, pulled from the peryton nest, travel south separately for Merrivet Ashcombe's archive. See Session 55.

Additional intelligence for filing under Varum, Serpent Hills, Yuan-ti Activity, and Trade Way Operations:
We confirmed through scrying that Varum has been captured by Yuan-ti forces and remains alive. Varum is restrained in a prison-like chamber and is being interrogated and tortured by a high-ranking serpentfolk figure wearing priestly garb. Multiple Yuan-ti variants were present.
Varum is attempting to bargain for release and claims to possess wealth or information of sufficient value to purchase assistance.
No evidence was observed linking the Yuan-ti to the Cult directly. Current observations support that the Yuan-ti are pursuing their own objective regarding Varum.
Along the approach into the Serpent Hills we discovered:
A dead Yuan-ti operative carrying a sketch of Varum.
Multiple abandoned camps used by Varum's party.
Infernal traces indicating devils are traveling with Varum's group.
A Tiamat observance site maintained despite their current flight.
Evidence that Varum's party is less than a day ahead of us.
A deceased Harper agent was located in a Peryton nest. We recovered:
A Harper pin.
An encoded Harper notebook.
The notebook is being returned to the archives for analysis.
No direct evidence of Najaran command structure has yet been found. We remain alert for symbols, tribute, ranks, royal titles, or evidence of organized serpentfolk governance as requested.
