The Harpers' Read
One of the goblinoid kin; see also Goblin, Hobgoblin, Bugbear. A bugbear is the muscle of the goblinoid kin — big, stealthy for its size, and built around a single devastating ambush. Its first blow from hiding lands far harder than any that follow, and its long reach lets it strike before you close. Survive the opening surprise and you have the better of it; let it set the ambush and the first of you may not rise.
