Therezal
Therezal is a half-orc tour guide and opportunist from Phandalin who attached himself to the adventuring party out of curiosity and a profound lack of better things to do. Known for his dry wit, running commentary, and surprising moral insight, Therezal walks the line between bystander and companion.
Background
Therezal was first encountered in Session 03 – Welcome to Phandalin, where he offered unsolicited local guidance to the adventurers as they arrived in town. Though not officially hired, he followed the group through their early exploits, observing the chaos that trailed in their wake. Despite his rough demeanor, Therezal’s curiosity about heroism and destiny hints at more depth than he lets on.
Originally a porter and sometime caravan guard, he grew bored with mundane work and began offering “tours” to newcomers — often embellishing Phandalin’s history to keep his audience entertained (and paying).
Relationships
- Shade – Finds her antics entertaining and possibly inspiring.
- Sildar Hallwinter – Respects him, though mocks his age and stiffness.
- Phandalin – His home and the center of his impromptu guiding business.
Current Status
Alive and currently accompanying the adventurers, alternating between comic relief and accidental wisdom. His exact motivations for staying with the group remain unclear.
