The Harpers' Read
A frost giant is a mountain that swings an axe. Cold does nothing to it, so the frozen north is its ally and your disadvantage. It fights at two ranges — a greataxe that fells a front rank, and hurled ice and boulders for those who keep their distance — and a leader's war-cry can harden a whole warband at once (the company's own giant ally, Hurum Thur, used just such a cry to steel their line). Frost giants respect strength above all else; one bested in a fair trial of arms may sooner be turned than the dragon that enslaved it.
Encounters of Record
The company has fought frost giants and fought beside one. They thawed Hurum Thur from Arauthator's gallery of frozen victims, and he stood with them against Old White Death (49); their whole road through the Sea of Moving Ice (47) runs through giant country. The ice-giant Bernie, pilot of Skyreach Castle, has been landlord more than foe.
