Leosin Erlanthar

Leosin Erlanthar is a half-elf monk and scholar devoted to studying dragons and their cults. A senior member of the Harpers, Leosin was one of the first to recognise the scale and coordination of the Cult of the Dragon's activities, and his capture during the Siege of Greenest was a turning point in the company's early campaign.

Background

Leosin hails from the city of Berdusk, where he trained at a monastery dedicated to Oghma, god of knowledge. His interest in dragons began in his youth, spurred by a vision he interpreted as a warning from the Platinum Dragon, Bahamut. Over the years he became one of the foremost authorities on draconic cults and a trusted field operative for the Harpers.

In 1488 DR he travelled with a group of monks to Greenest to investigate reports of cult activity. When the assault began, he and his students sheltered in the Temple of Chantea (Greenest). During the chaos he was taken by the cult on the orders of Frulam Mondath, who wanted what he knew about Harper operations. The company's rescue of him in Session 19 began the relationship that has run ever since.

What he has done for the company

Introduced them to Ontharr Frume of the Order of the Gauntlet in Session 23, opening their route into a second faction.
Sat with them in Waterdeep alongside Ontharr, Thavius Kreeg, and the Zhentarim delegation after Skyreach Castle (Sessions 34–35).
Briefed them on where every member realm stood before the Council of Waterdeep — the assessment that still underpins the Council Disposition Tracker.

Current status

Leosin leads the Harpers' northern effort against the Cult, informally and alongside Reidoth. He remains the company's principal Harper contact and Gootcha's handler, and he writes to her far more often than he writes to anyone else.

Relationships

Gootcha – his agent, and the one he treats as a colleague rather than an asset. He argued for her elevation.
Ontharr Frume – long working partnership across the Harper–Gauntlet line. Opposite men who trust each other completely.
Reidoth – fellow Harper and druidic contact; they correspond about dragon sightings and elemental magic.
Frulam Mondath – his captor at Greenest, who interrogated him for Harper intelligence.
Governor Nighthill – mutual respect, though Leosin found his politics frustratingly cautious.
Merrivet Ashcombe – the cipher clerk he sent to Nuts Deep, out of Berdusk, and about whom he is fond and exasperated in equal measure.
