Council Disposition Tracker
Council Disposition Tracker
How the coalition — and the countryside — regard Deez Nuts. The upper table tracks the war council's member realms. The lower one tracks goodwill: the ordinary places that have reason to think well of the company, and the ones that do not.
For what each faction wants and offers, see the Faction Support Tracker. For per-character ranks and boons, the Renown Tracker. For the council itself, Council of Waterdeep.
Council members & realms
The dispositions Leosin Erlanthar briefed the party on before the Council of Waterdeep, updated as they shift.
| Member | Disposition | Position & priorities | What the party has done |
|---|---|---|---|
| Waterdeep — Lady Dalla Silmerhelm | Ally | Aligned with the coalition; knew of Maccath the Crimson. | Acted on her Maccath lead. |
| Neverwinter — Lord Dagult Neverember | Believer / pragmatist | Presided over the Council and deputized the party. | Earned the deputization. |
| Baldur's Gate / Flaming Fist — Marshal Ulder Ravenguard | Believer / pragmatist | Defends the Bronze Blades (his agents); backs the giant alliance. Granted the company Nuts Deep. | Friction over the Bronze Blades, then rescued them; holds and defended the fort he granted them. |
| Mithral Hall dwarves — Ambassador Conrad Brawn | Skeptic — to win over | Distrusts the giant alliance (old dwarf–giant enmity). | The giant alliance remains a sore point with him. |
| Misty Forest elves — King Melendrak | Skeptic — to win over | Doubts the Cult can truly summon Tiamat. | Not yet decisively convinced. |
| Silverymoon — Taern Thunderspells Hornblade | Conditional | Wants all intelligence on summoning and resurrection magic. | Reported the Draakhorn, the resurrections of Rath Modar & Rezmir, and Red Wizard involvement. |
Goodwill
Councils are won with victories. Villages are won with roofs.
Goodwill records how ordinary communities regard the company — earned by what was done for them, and spent on the things only locals can give. It is tracked separately from council standing because it behaves differently: it is slower to build, far harder to fake, and it does not care what a lord thinks.
The scale
| Standing | What it means |
|---|---|
| Devoted | The place considers itself to owe the company. Doors open, and stay open. |
| Warm | Welcome, fed, and helped. Strangers asking after the company get nothing. |
| Neutral | Known of, not known. Ordinary custom, ordinary prices. |
| Wary | Something happened here. Cooperation is grudging and watched. |
| Hostile | The company is not safe here, and neither is anyone associated with them. |
What goodwill is good for
- Shelter and supply — lodging, food, horses, hands, at fair cost or none.
- Word freely given — what passed through, who asked after whom, what the strangers looked like.
- Cover for associates — see below.
- Warning — a warm village sends word when someone comes asking. A devoted one sends word before they finish asking.
- Resistance to agitation — a place that trusts the company is markedly harder for the Cult of the Dragon to turn against it.
Associates
Goodwill extends beyond the six of them. It covers the company's associates: every faction cell — The Nightingales, The Anvil, Talonfall — and the squires. A village that trusts Deez Nuts will house a Nightingale without asking her business, walk a Talon to the right trailhead, and forget it saw either.
This makes goodwill the one resource that quietly improves every other cell's reach.
The record
| Place | Standing | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Luskan | Devoted | The company broke the blood-red coin curse and cured the city (S51). |
| Elturel | Devoted | Saved a secret supply caravan and destroyed the force pursuing it at the Battle of Nuts Deep (S53). The city is sending craftsmen and supplies in thanks. |
| Greenest | Warm | Xanphina met Langdedrosa Cyanwrath in single combat before the whole town (S18). |
| Phandalin | Warm | The Redbrands broken and Gundren Rockseeker recovered, in the company's first days. |
| The Svirfneblin of the deep | Warm | Allied, and their lift repaired (S46). |
| The Myconid colony | Warm | Befriended rather than fought (S45). |
| The freed lair-peoples of the north Hrimthur, Ralph, Marfulb |
Warm | Freed from Arauthator's service (S48–50). |
| The Ice Hunters — Bone Carver's clan | Hostile | Turned on the company after learning it had killed their missing kin (S47). |
| The burned homesteads north of Neverwinter | Neutral | Razed by the Cult; survivors with nothing left and nowhere to be. Keyleth proposed recruiting labour from them. Nothing has yet been done for them. |
