Timeline

The timeline of the campaign — the dated history of Faerûn as Deez Nuts have lived it and learned it, from the deep past to the present day.

How dates are reckoned

Faerûn counts years in Dalereckoning (DR) and days by the Calendar of Harptos: twelve months of thirty days each — Hammer (deep winter), Alturiak, Ches (early spring), Tarsakh, Mirtul, Kythorn (early summer), Flamerule, Eleasis (high summer), Eleint (autumn), Marpenoth, Uktar (late autumn), and Nightal (year's end) — with festival days between some months (Midwinter, Greengrass, Midsummer, Highharvestide, the Feast of the Moon).

The campaign began in 1488 DR, the Year of Dwarvenkind Reborn — fittingly, a year that opened with a dwarf's wagon and ended with a dwarf joining the party. Events of ages past are listed by year; events of the campaign itself are given to the month and day, with c. marking approximate dates.

centuries ago	Orc hordes sweep the North and destroy the great mine of the Phandelver's Pact — Wave Echo Cave and its Forge of Spells are lost for generations.
Late 7th century DR	The Skarhald Clan — orc warriors and mystics who rejected Gruumsh — rises to prominence east of the High Moor.
759 DR	The first Grove Burning: Starspire Grove, holy to the Skarhald, burns in a single night — accounts of the era name Balagos the Flame Tyrant — and the clan is destroyed in the seasons that follow, its champions lured out and slain. (The Grove Burnings, Skarhald Clan)
centuries ago	Garmok the Chainbearer, hero of the Skarhald, seals an infernal rift beneath the Mere of Dead Men at the cost of his own binding — his spirit chained there until Session 44.
Late 8th century DR	Veylan Duskbane slays Nythrazhul, the Plague of the Emerald Vale; his tomb is raised inside the dragon's skull in the Forest of Wyrms.
c. 990 DR	The Hellriders of Elturel open a gate into Hell beside the Gray Watch — now Nuts Deep — and ride through to break a devilish threat; the gate closes behind them and only a handful return. Elturel's paladin corps bears their name to this day.
over four centuries ago	Manshoon founds the Zhentarim at Zhentil Keep.
1132 DR	The House of the Still Pool, an elven seer-house near Silverymoon, burns so hot the stone glazes. (The Grove Burnings)
1201 DR	The Drowned Sisters — three fey-touched druid circles in the Lizard Marsh — are swallowed by burning black water in a night. (The Grove Burnings)
1264 DR	Cloudcrown Vale and its sky-watchers are destroyed by a storm out of a clear sky. (The Grove Burnings)
1310 DR	The Whitepetal Enclave north of Luskan freezes solid in a single midsummer night. (The Grove Burnings)
1359 DR	The Dreaming Bower in Neverwinter Wood withers; its dream-seers die without a mark. (The Grove Burnings)
c. 1390s DR	A dragon attack ruins the Host Tower of the Arcane — the event that names Luskan's Dragon Beach. The ruin stands for nearly a century.
1402 DR	Thornwild Court, a fey crossing in the Misty Forest, burns end to end; hunters report "wings against the moon." (The Grove Burnings)
decades ago	Mount Hotenow erupts; Thundertree is buried in ash and abandoned.
unrecorded	Narthalas, Keyleth's home village in the Glimmerwood, burns end to end — the last entry in the Harpers' ledger of cullings. No date survives in the files.
c. 1475 DR	The Keep at Greenest is built. (The Keep (Greenest))
1483 DR	Lord Valtheran brokers the Grain Charter in Waterdeep.
1484 DR	The Order of the Gauntlet is founded in the wake of the Second Sundering.
1485 DR	Valtheran's Harbor Levies Reform passes in Waterdeep.
1486 DR	The Salt Ledger Fire response cements Valtheran's reputation; the Bronze Blades begin operating out of Baldur's Gate.
some years ago	A lich secretly seizes the leadership of Elturel; Thavius Kreeg summons the Companion, whose light breaks the lich's grip. Kreeg has been High Overseer since. (S53)
recent years	The Arcane Brotherhood returns to Luskan, drives the undead from the Host Tower ruin, and rebuilds it.

The campaign — 1488 DR, the Year of Dwarvenkind Reborn

c. Tarsakh 2	S18	Xanphina defeats Langdedrosa Cyanwrath in single combat at dawn.
Tarsakh	S19–S22	The cult camp infiltrated; the dragon hatchery cleared; Frulam Mondath falls; the eggs are… dealt with.
late Tarsakh–Mirtul	S23–S26	Undercover on the cult's caravan; Murray is murdered on the Trade Way; the Carnath Roadhouse smuggling tunnel found.
Mirtul–Kythorn	S27–S29	The Dead Moors; alliance with the lizardfolk; Castle Naerytar liberated; Rezmir's journal recovered.
c. Mirtul	(revealed S48)	The Cult negotiates the Draakhorn away from Arauthator.
Kythorn	S30–S33	Talis the White's lodge; Parnast; the Skyreach Castle heist — and victory. The flying castle is theirs.
Flamerule	S34–S38	Escarlotta's revelations; training in Elturel; the Tower of Madness; the Temple of Death, where Gootcha makes her pact with the Raven Queen; a hoard claimed. Around this time Maccath the Crimson sails north from Luskan into the Sea of Moving Ice.
Eleasis	S39–S41	The Misty Forest trail; Alexios breaks his oath; Skyreach Castle secured as a base.
c. Eleasis 23	S42	Waterdeep: the Bronze Blades, the gala, and Lord Valtheran exposed.
Eleasis 30	S43	The Council of Waterdeep convenes. The party testifies and receives its sanction; Shade dreams of iron.
Eleint	S44–S46	A week beneath Garmok's Mine: the infernal rift, Garmok the Chainbearer freed, Voaraghamanthar slain; the Underdark, the Mind Gobbler, Ilyra Voss, and a bypass tunnel carved to song.
Marpenoth	S47 pt 1	North along the High Road — five days to Neverwinter, then by sea to Luskan. The Host Tower of the Arcane briefing on Maccath the Crimson; weeks of outfitting, scroll-craft, and refitting the Frost Skimmer for the ice.
c. Uktar 10	S47 pt 2	The Frost Skimmer sails into the Sea of Moving Ice — eight hours of daylight to sixteen of dark. Verithrax the bronze dragon, Mick the marid, sea hags, and the ice hunters of Oyaviggaton.
c. Uktar 15	S48	Inside Oyaviggaton: the ice toads and trolls won over, Maccath the Crimson freed, Hrimthur revived — and the Draakhorn confirmed at the Well of Dragons.
c. Uktar 16	S49	Battle with Arauthator — and the fall of the whole company. In a demiplane of the Hells, Lady Calera and Dispater offer a bargain.
c. Uktar 17	S50	Reforged. Alexios's soul slips away; Baelgrum is bound in his place. Arauthator dies in a single time-frozen volley. The voyage home runs the gauntlet of the ice.
c. Uktar 24	S51	Luskan, two weeks after the party's coins hit its streets: the blood-red gold reckoning, the curse broken city-wide, the Arcane Brotherhood made a true ally.
late Uktar–Nightal	S52	The long march south with Maccath — razed homesteads on the road, a red dragon two weeks gone; Ulder Ravengard grants the old Hellriders' fort, promptly named Nuts Deep; the turnip wagon ambush.
c. Nightal 29	S53	The Battle of Nuts Deep: the fort's first day is its first victory. Baelgrum joins the Dawnbringers; the history of Elturel's Companion and the Hellriders is told; the third stanza of the Prophecy of the Thorn-Born Star arrives.
early Hammer, 1489 DR	current	A week of downtime at Nuts Deep carries the company across the new year into 1489 DR, the Year of the Warrior Princess. Next: north to Boareskr Bridge, after Varram the White.
