Current Arc: Rise of Tiamat
What you know: A cult devoted to the Dragon Queen gathers power, allies, and treasure—seeking to unmake the balance of the Realms. They hold the Draakhorn, a horn that can muster dragons across the North, and are working toward summoning Tiamat herself. What you need: Leads, leverage, and friends in high (and low) places. What's new: You are on Varram the White's trail northeast of Boareskyr Bridge — and the serpent-folk are hunting her too.
Active Quests
| Quest | Status | Key NPCs |
|---|---|---|
| Investigate the Cult of the Dragon | Active - The overarching war against the Cult. Their method is now known: a randomized list of soft targets raided to feed a god-sized hoard, layered information control, standing surveillance of the party, and repeated assassination squads (S52). At Boareskyr Bridge their agents knew Deez Nuts by name and demanded the party's captured Orbs of Dragon's Breath back (S54) | Leosin Erlanthar, Council of Waterdeep |
| Stop the Summoning of Tiamat / Recover the Draakhorn | Active - The Cult holds the Draakhorn. Maccath the Crimson plans magic items placed along the Sword Coast to suppress its call — she may need something representing each chromatic dragon color (S52) | Maccath the Crimson, Cult of the Dragon |
| Find Varram the White | Active — in pursuit - The bridge reached (S54): Varram was there weeks ago — "the hero of Boareskyr Bridge" for killing Yuan-ti spies — and her trail runs northeast along the Winding Water, clawed inhuman tracks and all. The yuan-ti hunt her with her portrait sewn into their flesh | Varram the White, Ulder Ravengard |
| Restore Nuts Deep | Active - Elturel's craftsmen and supplies are standing up the fort (S53); a working teleportation circle waits in the mage tower; every PC's retinue leader is stationed there (S54) | Ulder Ravengard, Thavius Kreeg |
| Stop Rezmir and the Black Dragon Lady | Active - Rezmir fled Castle Naerytar with the Red Wizard Rath Modar; her soul is owed to the Raven Queen | Rezmir, Rath Modar |
| Rite of Sundering | Active - Find The Ashtongue to mend the infernal rift beneath Garmok's Mine — the rift that saturated the blood-red coins (S51); still open, still seeping | The Ashtongue, Xanphina |
| Report Findings to Council of Waterdeep | Ongoing - Reported to Marshal Ulder Ravengard in S52; Maccath the Crimson and the Arcane Brotherhood delegation are Waterdeep-bound to brief the Council directly | Council of Waterdeep, Ulder Ravengard, Remalia Haventree |
Faction charges (tracker): Talons Dispatch: The Kiln (Keyleth, active) • Dawnbringer Charge: The Foreseen Artifact (Baelgrum, open-ended) • Harper Dispatch: A Source at the Bridge (Gootcha — source recruited S54; ledger copy open) • Zhentarim Instruction: An Asset at the Bridge (Shade — complete S54)

Quest Leads
Quest Leads are breadcrumbs, rumors, and mysteries the party has encountered but hasn't fully pursued yet. Unlike active quests, these are hints that could develop into full quests when investigated. (Full list on the Quest Tracker.)
| Quest Lead | What's Known |
|---|---|
| Why are the Yuan-ti hunting Varram? (new, S54) | Serpent-spies at Boareskyr Bridge were watching for the dwarf, and a dead yuan-ti tracker carried her portrait sewn into secret pockets in its own flesh. Nobody knows why the Serpent Hills want the Wyrmspeaker. |
| Who is the "us" that wants the orbs back? (new, S54) | The Cult's lead agent at the bridge: "I've heard that maybe you've acquired one or more of those orbs. I would appreciate if you returned them to us." Somebody is counting the Orbs of Dragon's Breath — and knows Deez Nuts has them. |
| Yuan-ti attacks on the Trade Way (new, S54) | Many attacks on travelers between Boareskyr Bridge and Dragonspear Castle; tracking raiders back would cull the clutch. |
| The Cult's treasure-sense (S52) | At the razed homesteads, survivors said that after the houses burned "the cultists went right in through the ashes and pulled out the small amount of gold and jewelry that we had" — as if they could smell it. Baelgrum flagged it; nobody followed up. (S54: The Hearthwardens are now rebuilding that village.) |
| Morrow and Vex escaped (S52) | Two assassins from The Turnip Wagon Ambush got away — Morrow stabbed himself to trigger a Contingency and dimension-doored out with Vex. They still hold the squad's sending stone and their halves of the call-and-response key. |
| The Cult is watching Deez Nuts (S52) | Per Rook Blackstring: "resources everywhere trying to collect as much information as possible on you. Some, their only job is just to listen." Multiple hit squads have already been sent, and the Cult has identified Gootcha's soul-taking as its central problem. |
| Prophecy of the Thorn-Born Star | Now three stanzas — the last from Arklem Greeth's vault (S53): "The tide once turned, a debt comes due — the star that turned it, setting too." The Harpers delivered The Grove Burnings; and per Maccath the Crimson, the research itself can be divined — the Cult may know the party is looking. |
| The Bronze Blades frame-job fallout | Shade convinced Ship Kurth and the Arcane Brotherhood that the innocent Bronze Blades carry red coins and should be searched "thoroughly" (S51). In S52 the Blades cheerfully announced they are riding north into Luskan this week — and nobody warned them. |
| The Goosebear — is the honk the Draakhorn? | A legendary fear-honking chimera of the north; Shade suspects the "honk" may actually be the Draakhorn. Halvard Greyskein renewed his offer (S51) to bankroll an expedition to its hoard, for a cut. |
| Voaraghamanthar's lost hoard | The mine treasure was a Cult offering — his true hoard lies elsewhere, and his twin Waervaerendor may have revived him. |
| Arauthator's Mate (Arveiaturace) | Arauthator's mate survives in the far north, driven insane by her tiefling wizard companion's death. At large — a live threat. |
| The Mattock of the Titan mystery | Its mining magic blazed for one task then went dormant; the Svirfneblin want to know why. |
| The Compact's future debt | The reforged party owes Lady Calera / Zarchelia aid in a coming conflict, on Dispater's warrant. S52 confirms Lady Calera is an erinyes of the second circle of Hell. |
| The ice hunters' grudge | Bone Carver and the freed ice-hunter clan turned hostile after learning the party killed their missing brethren. |
| The Eye of Gilbraxis — "at least one of them" | More than one Eye is implied to exist; the one Shade bears was a wizard before death. |
| The Sighing Masks — Cult splinter at large | The Cult of the Dragon cell behind the Halia waypoint attacks was never found. |
| Two patrons over the party's souls — Raven Queen vs. Dispater | Both the Raven Queen (through Gootcha's pact and the Soul Tokens) and the Hells (through Dispater / Zarchelia and the Compact) hold competing claims on the company. |
| The Mind Gobbler still lives — and is adapting | The mythic aberration beneath Garmok's Mine survived the party's retreat and learns from the magic used against it. (S45) |
| Ilyra Voss's agenda & the illithid colony | The drow studied the Underdark aberrations for ~450 years and used the party as test subjects. (S45–46) |
| ~500 red coins still in the party's bag of holding | Kept unmelted as evidence and props (S51); still infernally saturated, shielded only while inside the bag. |
| The Cult's Tiamat temple & Infernal ritual book (Garmok's Mine) | An Infernal-dialect ritual book looted from a shrine to Tiamat in the mine (S45); never followed up. |
| Northern allies — Verithrax & Mick | An anti-Tiamat bronze dragon and a friendly Marid genie remain in the Sea of Moving Ice, sympathetic and unspent. (S47) |
| The freed lair-peoples ally network | Hrimthur, Ralph, and Marfulb are standing favors and potential allies in the north. (S48–50) |
| House T'sarran's drow vendetta | The party killed Commander Vyran T'sarran and a drow priestess beneath Garmok's Mine (S46); their house may seek reprisal. |
| The Aboleth in the Underdark lake | The party appeased and fled an ancient aboleth (S46); aboleths nurse long memories. |
| The Derro's surface-trade ambitions / the "Bronze Blades" lie | Derro traders were told by Shade that the Bronze Blades are "dwarves worth trading with" (S45) — a lie that could boomerang. |
| Shade's mycelial visions | Myconid rapport spores gave Shade vivid hallucinations (S46). Possibly meaningful foreshadowing. |
| Unexplored relics from Garmok's hoard | A "strange crown" and a "funerary urn with unknown remains" remain unexamined (S44). |
